Thank God for GREAT friends and family!

PARTY??? So, we arrived at McDonald's for Margot's FIRST Birthday party around 9:40 and it started at 10. Of course, I expected to see 'party central' - the way they described it... What I saw was a plain old McDonald's, no balloons, no celebration, just a huge bus load of kids coming in to eat with a staff that said they were on 'skeleton crew' and advised the bus load to leave. The bus load did not leave and I did not leave that counter without an explaination of why my little lady's party was ready or at least being prepared for. WHAT? PARTY? Uh, yes, the one I made a deposit for. Well, yes, pregnant old me teared up and wanted to stomp my feet, but had great friends who arrived and an awesome sister and her kids who helped get everything set up. It turned out great and the kids had fun and of course Margot had no idea anything wasn't just right... WHEW! Thanks everyone for being there and making it PERFECT!

Pre Birthday Bash!

On Friday Aunt Shayne and 3 of her girls drove from Waco to celebrate the big day with us! Margot and Anna are 2 months apart and have a blast together (when they pay attention to each other - you know how one year olds are...) I am so thankful that Margot has a cousin so close in age and I hope they grow up to be great friends! My sister Shayne and her family are amazing!!!

Look, I'm Eating

So, I'm not kidding when I say Margot doesn't eat. Well, she will eat a snack anytime, but real food - NEVER... One day I was trying to get her to eat lunch while I was eating lunch. I was eating a stuffed artichoke. As I was taking a leaf off the artichoke I thought, hummm, this might be fun for her to 'try' or at least 'play with'. So I gave her a leaf, with little expectation. To my surprise, she loved it, and she even ate it the right way! So I gave her another and another! I'm sure if I try that again, she will look at me like I'm nuts (the usual eating situation). But, hey, she tried something!!!

Girl, you got a bandaid on your head...

So, in May we noticed a little red dot on Margot's head. It started to grow so we went to the dr. No big deal she said, until... Alex went to get Margot from her nap one day and she and her bed were covered in blood. Apparently this 'thing' has its own blood supply and when it 'busts', it BUSTS! So after a few 'explosions' we ended up at Texas Children's getting it lazered. Hopefully this will make it go away. If not, we will have to get it surgically removed. And THAT is why she always has a bandaid on her head...

I know its been a while...

While Alex and I went to Hawaii, Margot visited her cousins and Nana and Pappy brought her home so we could see her when we got back. As you can see-she had a BLAST! Alex and I did too, but it was really hard being away from her for a week! Although we missed her dearly, I don't think she even noticed or cared that we weren't around. One thing that stinks, is she actually ate while we were gone and went right back to not eating when we got home. We'll figure this 'eating' thing out one day...

Swimmin with my boyfriend

So, Margot had her first swim. She loved the water and mostly Sean's toys. Whatever Sean is playing with Margot wants to play with . He is so sweet that he usually lets her have his toy and gets another one. Well, that just makes her want the 'other one'. Its horrible! Whatever he has she wants. We're trying to teach her to share - not the easiest 'lesson' for a nine month old. They had so much fun together though. Of course Jill had to get in on the fun too and Margot didn't mind - she adores Jill! Hopefully we will get to enjoy the water alot this summer!
